Unclaimed property search kiosk announced

Missouri State Treasurer Clint Zweifel visited Joplin today for a couple of announcements.

Zweifel unveiled a new Unclaimed Property Search kiosk placed in the Department of Revenue License office.

It will allow residents to search for their unclaimed property and file claims while waiting to renew their driver’s license or license plates.

There is more than $7 million unclaimed in more than 70,000 accounts in Jasper and Newton Counties.

Zweifel’s staff was on hand today at the license office to help residents with their search.

They will return tomorrow from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Staff will also help replace state issued checks that have been lost.

The treasurer also announced that Sign Designs, a full-service sign creation and installation company was awarded a $180,000 low-interest loan.

This will allow the company to keep its 18 full-time employees.

It’s part of the Harmed-area Emergency Loan Priority, or HELP system.

So far nearly $26 million in loans impacting 780 jobs have been issued since the launch of the HELP system following the April 22nd tornadoes in the St. Louis area.
