Monday’s Child – Alexus, age 9

Nine-year old Alexus says she likes everything about the playground. She prefers playing a game of chase while attacking the jungle gym. She says her favorite outdoor activities involve water (swimming, sprinklers, ring-around-the-rosey). The third grader says she’s a good student. She is highly motivated in her favorite subjects by rewards–math, treats; science, experiments; social studies, prizes; reading, book logs, which, if finished, they get to go to the movies. She knows she wants to work at Sonic or McDonalds at some point. She loves Dora the Explorer and movies. She looks forward to traveling someday. She’d like to go back to Branson because it’s fun and you get to go on the “Quack Duck boat.” She says happiness would come with a pet–maybe a fish, or a hamster. She wants a puppy. At 9, she’s not always decisive, including the description of her personality, which she says is sometimes shy–excited, hyper for ice cream, exploring.

Her quest is to find a permanent home–not matter how big or small.
