Alum donates $100,000 for Pittsburg High graduates

Pittsburg High School alum Roy Davis has made a $100,000 donation to the USD 250 Foundation, an organization that provides scholarships to graduating PHS seniors.

Davis also bestowed his house and other personal property to the Foundation, saying he hoped to leave a legacy even after he’s gone.

“I’ve gotten a lot out of life and I think you ought to try and put something back in it, I guess I’m just built that way I guess,” Davis says.

Davis graduated from high school in 1953 and is a U.S. Navy veteran.  He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years, including 10 years as Postmaster of the Frontenac Post Office.
