Cancer survivors get to be kids at Camp Quality

Camp Quality in Newton County, Missouri is like many summer camps.  It is a place for kids to have fun by swimming, playing games and doing arts and crafts.

The campers at Camp Quality range and age from four years old to 18 years old, and all of them either have cancer or is a cancer survivor.

Camp volunteers and officials say they ensure kids maintain the same diet and medication schedules.

And camp officials say everyone at camp quality becomes one big family.

“That’s the unique thing about this camp,” says staff director Teresa Adams.  “You create this bond with them.  You do feel - it feels like a family.  And a lot of the kids even feel that way.”

Camp Quality is week-long program and is free of charge.
