Comedians stand up for Joplin

A group of comedians take the stage.

Yakov Smirnoff hosted “Stand Up for Joplin” Tonight at the Taylor Performing Arts Center.

But the show wasn’t just to provide some laughter to the packed crowd.

The proceeds are going to Joplin schools.

The comedians say while they try to get a laugh they’re also they’re also there to lift people’s spirits.

“God will never put on you more than you can handle, and these people here are so resilient with the word Joplin, so if you are feeling like you can’t do something, all you got to do is be Joplin about it and get it done.” says Michael J.R.
