Professional bowlers from Tulsa help out JHS Band

The Joplin High School Band is given $4,100 to put towards musical necessities thanks to a few professional bowlers.

The group of bowlers drove from Tulsa to present the band members with the money, which was raised through a bowl-a-thon.

The bowlers were inclined to help as they were all band members when they were in high school.

“I couldn’t imagine losing my house and my kids losing their schools and their instruments, and everything. I just could not imagine and so I was very fortunate to be able to get some of my friends together from the tour and get on lanes for 17 hours and do what we love doing, so the kids can do what they want to do,” says Mike Foster, professional bowler.

The band members were able to share a game of bowling with the professionals.

Foster even gave the band director a brand new bowling ball and bag to show his support.
