South Africa consulate brings donation to Joplin middle school

Representatives from the South African Consulate General in Chicago paid a visit today to Joplin’s North Middle School, bringing a van full of school supplies.

The donation was in honor of Mandela Day, which celebrates the life work of Nelson Mandela, who turned 93 today.

The consulate wanted to show gratitude to the American people for their support and chose the Joplin school district as a worthwhile recipient.

Each year Nelson Mandela’s birthday celebration is dedicated to his life’s work, his charitable organizations, and to ensure his legacy continues forever.
