Dowe Quick | Executive Producer, Anchor

Dowe Quick has been with KOAM News since October 1980. He has won the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award for Investigative Reporting as well as numerous awards from Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma Broadcasting Associations for his reporting.

Dowe says the best part about working for KOAM News is having a chance to interact with people he likes personally and respects professionally. He also finds working for a station with high expectations a challenge that carries many rewards.

Doug Heady | Chief Meteorologist

Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, Doug came to KOAM from KSHB, where he did the morning weather.  In December 2002, he took over as the KOAM Chief Meteorologist.

Doug was the youngest person certified by American Meteorological Society. Is also certified by National Weather Association in 2003. Now a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist, which will replace the AMS.

Jordan Aubey | Senior Reporter

Born in Canada, Jordan Aubey was raised in Chicago and got his Broadcast Journalism degree from Columbia College of Chicago.

Aubey says being a reporter is his dream job but admits that if he wasn’t doing this, he’d like to be a travel and food critic.

Tawnya Bach | Anchor

Tawnya came to the Four States in the Fall of 2005 after working as weekend anchor at KRBC in Abilene, Texas, and as assignment editor & producer at KCTV in Kansas City. Tawnya earned her degrees in journalism and theatre & film from the University of Kansas at Lawrence.

Her hometown is Jetmore, Kansas, a rural community with a population of about 900. Tawnya, nicknamed “T-Bach,” admits to being afraid of mice & rats following a bad experience at a Kansas City haunted house!

Zach Fletcher | Reporter

Zach grew up in the Pittsburg and Frontenac, KS area and joined us as a 17 year old incoming high school senior in July 2006. He has been a photographer, news assistant, and in July 2010, was named a reporter.

In addition to working at our station, Zach interned at KMBC-TV in Kansas City, MO during the summer of 2010.

He graduated from Pittsburg State University in May 2011, majoring in Communications with a minor in Political Science.

Tyler Daniel | Fill-In Meteorologist

Tyler Daniel first joined the KOAM news team in 1996 working behind the scenes and on the air.  He has held a number of positions including News Assistant, Photojournalist, News Reporter, Weekend Weather Anchor and Chief Weather Anchor.

Tyler currently works as a full-time Firefighter/EMT in the Kansas City area, but returns to KOAM from time as a fill-in Weather Anchor.

Growing up Humboldt Kansas, Tyler developed a special interest in weather and still today enjoys the challenges of forecasting here in the Four-States.

Tyler is a graduate of Humboldt High School and Pittsburg State University.

Brian Davis | Reporter and Weekend Meteorologist

A native of Florence, Alabama, Brian has worked at WAAY-TV, WZDX-TV, WMTY-TBN, & WJOR-FM and studied at Shoals Community College, Mississippi State University and the University of Tennessee.

Brian has the American Meteorological Society seal of approval and the National Weather Association seal of approval.

Angela Garcia | Reporter

Joined KOAM in April 2011. A Concord, California native and graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in Broadcast & Electronic Communication Arts.

Interned in the Community Affairs Department and for the Morning News at KTVU-TV in the Bay area.

Angela Greenwood | Reporter and Fill-In Anchor

The Oakley, California native has a Bachelor of Arts in Radio in Television with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism from San Francisco State University, earning a Broadcast Department Excellence Award in Writing for Media while at the school. Angela interned at KTVU in San Francisco.

Angela joined KOAM and Fox 14 in October 2010.

Lindsey Henry | Reporter

Lindsey was raised in Katy, Texas, a surburb of Houston, though most of her family is from Joplin.

With a degree in Mass Communications Broadcast Production, Lindsey interned at KXAN-TV in Austin, Texas, and also spent time at KIII-TV in Corpus Christi.

Lindsey joined us in June 2011.

Lisa Olliges | Reporter, Weekend Anchor and Producer

Lisa is a Missouri native, calling St. Louis her hometown. She started with KOAM in 1988 and is a graduate of Lindwood College, with degrees in Mass Communications and Performing Arts. She is active in Joplin Little Theatre and is a teacher at her son’s preschool.

Lisa says the best part about being a journalist is having the chance to meet new people, and being able to inform people with life altering or life saving information.

Lisa is the Education Reporter for KOAM along with her anchor duties.

Dave Pylant | Anchor and Weather

Dave’s hometown is Kennett, Missouri, and he is the only person on staff who can say the third time is the charm. Dave’s worked at the station three different times over the past two decades.

Dave says the best thing about the Four States is that no matter where you’re from you feel welcome here. As far as why Dave likes working at KOAM, recognition for a job well done, and a good coffee machine top his list.

Jehan Sheikh | Reporter

Jehan was born in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia but grew up in Dallas, Texas.  She started at KOAM in June 2011 after getting her degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Arkansas in May 2011.

Jehan interned for ESPN Radio in Fayetteville and was a student representative for ESPNU’s Campus Connections.

Brandon Spiegel | Sports Anchor and Reporter

Brandon is from Denver, Colorado.  He graduated with a major in Broadcast Journalism with an emphasis in Radio/Television and a minor in Psychology from the University of Missouri.  While in school he worked at KOMU-TV 8 in Columbia.  He also interned at KWGN-TV in Denver.
